Peanut Free Night - Frederick Keys 2012

Please see the below press release from Frederick Allergy & Asthma Center regarding the June 14, 2012 Peanut Free Night with the Frederick Keys.

Allergist Sponsors Peanut-Free Night at Frederick Keys Game
Frederick, MD – (June 1, 2012) When it comes to the dangers of food allergies,
Dr. Brigida Hunter wants Keys fans to know the score. For someone who is allergic to peanuts, a fun night at the ballpark can turn into a medical emergency.

“An allergic reaction to peanuts can cause symptoms ranging from minor irritation to a life-threatening condition called anaphylaxis,” said Dr. Hunter, a board-certified allergist.

“People with peanut allergies are always at risk of having a serious reaction, even if symptoms have been mild in the past.” An allergist can conduct a skin test to confirm the existence or non-existence of peanut allergy.

To raise awareness about the dangers of peanut allergies, Dr. Hunter is sponsoring the fourth annual “peanut-free night” at the Frederick Keys baseball game on Thursday, June 14th. Game time is 7pm. The Keys will be taking on the Lynchburg Hillcats in the first of a four-game series. To prepare for the event, Harry Grove Stadium will be washed down multiple times prior to the game to create a safe, 100 % peanut-free environment for allergy sufferers. Dr. Hunter and members of her staff will be on hand to provide information about allergies and award a door prize.

"We have taken every precaution to allow kids who feel left out of America's pastime to have their night at Harry Grove Stadium," Keys Director of Marketing Adam Pohl said. "We are so pleased to partner with Dr. Hunter once again for this special night." The Keys have generously offered tickets to Frederick Allergy and Asthma Center Patients with peanut allergies.

Frederick Allergy and Asthma Center is located at 201 Thomas Johnson Drive in Frederick. For more information call 301-360-0776 or www.frederickallergy.com

Peanut Free Section Seattle Mariners 2012

A big THANK YOU goes to Michael San Soucie for the following information and for his role in making these Seattle Mariners games possible!

"The 2012 game dates are now available for ticket orders at www.mariners.com/nopeanuts.  I also noticed a couple other cool things about the games being offered to our group this year.  Two of the games are also free giveaway days and one is a business man's special during the summer which we have not had previously.  Pretty cool!

So here are some more specifics on the game dates and the special events taking place those nights:

Sunday, April 22nd vs. Chicago White Sox - this is a day game as we have always requested for those with smaller children.  It is also Little League Day!  This means a chance to go on the field prior to the game.  For those wanting to go on the field for the pre-game parade, have your child wear his/her uniform and get their early.  The parade begins at 11:30am and you just need to line up at the Right Field ramp near section 114.  This is basically below our seating section on the lower level.  All kids 14 and under also  receive a drawstring backpack upon entering the stadium.

Friday, May 25th vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - this game is a chance to see Albert Pujols, one of the best players in the game today.  It is also Dustin Ackley Bobblehead night.  The first 20,000 fans get a free bobblehead.  You will need to get there very early to get one of these.  It will be a very popular giveaway.

Thursday, July 26th vs. Kansas City Royals - this night is also the 8th annual Stitch 'n' Pitch night.  Bring your knitting, stitching, quilting, or other fiber arts projects to the game, get help from experts, view the latest samples from area shops, and meet other enthusiasts while enjoying a night at the ballpark.

Wednesday, August 15th vs. Tampa Bay Rays - this game is our very first business man's special; a midweek day game!  Take the day off of work and enjoy a sunny, summer day at the ballpark with your kids.  Also a second opportunity for those with younger children to come to the ballpark and not have the kids out too late."
