St. Paul Saints Peanut-Controlled Game 2021

Finally! Some news about a baseball game with accommodations for fans with peanut allergy. While you can attend games without special accommodations for peanut allergy--we have and it was super!--it's also nice that there are games with accommodations for peanut allergy. It really can set your mind at ease so you can enjoy the game more, especially if you have wee ones who are always putting their fingers in their mouths. I remember those days!

Thanks to the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota for keeping me in the loop year. The tickets are $22 for their peanut-controlled game and it is happening SOON--June 15! Rather than paraphrase the info from AAFA, here is the link to their flyer and AAFA's web page about the game.

Peanut Allergy Friendly Baseball Games: Minnesota Twins Peanut-Controlled Games

The Anaphylaxis & Food Allergy Association of Minnesota is coordinating with the Minnesota Twins yet again this year to offer special seating for fans with peanut allergies for an amazing 12 games. Details and prices are available on the ticket order form, courtesy of AFAA Minnesota. Please note: demand for seats is very high!

Peanut-Controlled Professional Soccer Game

In an email from the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota, news of a peanut-controlled professional soccer game! On October 10, at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN, the Minnesota United will offer a peanut-controlled suite. Tickets are $35 each and the game starts at 7 PM. St. Paul Saints Peanut-Free Game 2012

Thank you to the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota for the below information.

The AFAA (MN) and the Saint Paul Saints have planned a peanut-free game for Mother's Day, May 13, 2012. The game is against the Winnipeg Goldeyes and starts at 1:05 PM. Tickets are $12 (ticket only) or $17 for a package which includes a ticket, a hot dog, soda, and hat.

According to the e-blast, the peanut-free game's safety features include:

• Peanut-free baseball fare (i.e. hot dogs, beverages) will be allowed
• No peanuts and no products with peanut ingredients will be sold or allowed into the stadium 
• The stands will be cleaned with leaf blowers and powerful hoses
• AFAA volunteers will be on-site  
• Fans with multiple food allergies should contact AFAA with questions and for additional information

"Due to popular demand, the Minnesota Twins will offer TEN games this season where peanut-allergic fans can view the games from 2 Target Field balconies located in left field!


Sunday, May 27 - 1:10 (Detroit Tigers)  
Wednesday, May 30 - 12:10 - (Oakland A's)
Monday, June 25 - 7:10 - (Chicago White Sox)
Sunday, July 1 - 1:10 - (Kansas City Royals)
Thursday, July 19 - 12:10 - (Baltimore Orioles)

"$10 service charge for ordering.  No refunds/exchanges from Twins office but you may sell your unused tickets to AFAA families on waiting list if you cannot use them (contact AFAA for information). 


Only those with a legitimate allergy to peanuts and their immediate family members are eligible for these sections.   Participants will be required to sign a waiver and may be asked to provide documentation from a doctor.  Contact AFAA  for questions about eligibility.


Groups should order tickets at one time to ensure seating in the same balcony.

 Safety features:  

• Peanut-free baseball fare (i.e. hot dogs, beverages) will be allowed
• Balconies physically separated from other stadium seating
• Tables and chairs cleaned prior to games
• Exclusive access to the balconies for allergic fans
• AFAA hosts will be available in the balconies 
• A section of the balcony will be roped off as a designated area for those with multiple food allergies."

Peanut-Safe/Allergy Safe Minnesota Twins Games 2012

Big news for food allergic Minnesota Twins fans in today's e-blast from the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota:

"The Minnesota Twins will release the game dates for the Peanut-Safe/Allergy-Safe section on Monday, March 26th, when tickets will go on sale.  Be sure you are on the AFAA E-mail list to get the Twins order form/flier!  Last year tickets sold out in 1 day!  More games were added - and they too sold out in a day!"

Minnesota Twins Reserve 4 games for food allergic fans

Take me out to the ballgame - but forget the peanuts! AFAA will again host the peanut-free skybox for 4 Minnesota Twins baseball games this season. No peanuts or peanut ingredients are allowed into the skybox! Snacks sold inside the skybox are reviewed and labeled, and are free from 6 of the 8 major allergens. (Note: food from Metrodome vendors is allowed into the skybox.)

Game dates: June 17, July 3, August 12, September 11.
Tickets are $31.

St. Paul Saints Food-Free Seats

I received a tip from a reader (Thanks, G!) about the June 25, 2009 St. Paul Saints game and confirmed the details with Wendy Wessel, Coordinator of Food Allergy Support Group of Minnesota. This is the 5th year of the food-free section at a St. Paul Saints baseball game! You heard right--peanut-free, nut-free, completely food-free! Wendy explained the arrangements: "They arrange for us to reserve the top several rows of a section, with an empty "buffer" row between our section and the rows below. Our area gets extra cleaning before the game. Their food vendors cannot try to sell food in our area. They place extra ushers in the aisles to communicate the accommodations with other fans if they try to sit in the empty row or bring food in our area. Some of our attendees bring snacks to the game but go to main walkways under the bleachers to have them and then they return to their seat. Drinks are allowed in our area."
