No need to pre-register with AAFA New England for this event, as you will be buying your tickets directly from the baseball team, but it would be helpful to get an idea of how many people to expect for our group.

The stadium will be thoroughly cleaned beforehand and peanut products will not be sold anywhere throughout the ballpark during the game.

The general rule is that food and beverages may not be brought into International League ballparks.

Overview:

For the tenth year, the Boston Red Sox will welcome Peanut-Allergy fans to Fenway Park once again in 2014.  In coordination with the New England Chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the Red Sox make a concerted effort to help all fans to see Boston Red Sox Baseball at Fenway Park. Many of the changes to this season’s Peanut Allergy Friendly initiatives were in response to the 2013 Peanut Allergy Survey.

Cumberland Farms Deck Information

§  Located on the Right Field Roof Terrace

§  This section consists of 70 seats and 100 standing room only spaces

§  Price: $65 for a seat and $40 for standing room only

§  The Cumberland Farms Deck will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to each game

§  Appropriate “Peanut-Allergy Friendly” signage will be posted in this location

§  Sales of any nut products are prohibited on or near the Right Field Terrace during the game

§  There will be security, EMS, and a Fenway Ambassador present in this section throughout the game to troubleshoot, answer questions, and be of assistance in case an emergency arises

§  Eli Kaufman will be the main contact for these families throughout the course of the day

 

Coca-Cola Deck Information

§  Located in the Left Field Roof

§  The Coca-Cola Deck consists of 174 seats and 100 standing room only spaces.

§  Price: $47 for a seat and $30 for standing room only

§  The Coca Cola Deck will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to the game

§  Appropriate “Peanut-Allergy Friendly” signage will be posted in this location

§  Sales of any nut products are prohibited on or near the Left Field Pavilion Reserved Area and Coca-Cola Deck during the game

§  There will be security, EMS, and a Fenway Ambassador present in this section throughout the game to troubleshoot, answer questions, and be of assistance in case an emergency arises

§  Eli Kaufman will be the main contact for these families throughout the course of the day

 

Peanut Allergy Friendly Section Ticketing

To purchase tickets to one of these three dates, please email peanutallergy@redsox.com.  In order to ensure that everyone who wants tickets in the Peanut Allergy Friendly section receives the opportunity to purchase them, we limit the purchaser to 8 tickets.

 Once your tickets have been purchased and as the game date approaches, I will send out waivers to be signed and the Fenway Park concessions allergen list.

 

Booth F:

Booth F will be available one game per homestand for families whose children have extremely severe allergies. Additional opportunities may arise throughout the season.  This booth is a smaller enclosed space and is in a more secluded part of the ballpark.

§  Located on Media Level of Fenway Park

§  Tickets are available once per homestand

§  Price: $55 per ticket (6 ticket limit)

§  Families will meet an Ambassador at 4 Yawkey Way prior to game time and be escorted up the Booth F

§  A Fenway Ambassador will be the contact for this family for the duration of the game

 

Booth F Ticketing 

Booth F tickets will be available on a first come first serve basis. Please email peanutallergy@redsox.com so I can put you on our 2014 wait list.  Precedence will be given to those families who have not yet attended a 2014 Peanut Allergy Friendly game or had the opportunity to watch a game from Booth F this season.  Once an available date for Booth F is finalized, I will reach out to groups at the top of our wait list. 

Once your tickets have been purchased and as the game date approaches, I will send out waivers to be signed and the Fenway Park concessions allergen list.

 

Notes:

§  Waivers must be signed before attending a peanut allergy friendly game as we cannot guarantee a peanut free environment.

§  Please note that Fenway Park is NOT Peanut Free. We use the term Peanut Allergy Friendly as we know there are fans who attend Fenway Park that will eat peanuts in other areas of the park. 

§  After every game I will send out a survey in which I would like all participants to answer. This survey will help us gain knowledge on how to better improve your experience here at Fenway Park.

2013 Peanut-Allergy Friendly Initiative

Overview:

Entering its ninth year in existence, the Boston Red Sox will welcome Peanut-Allergy fans to Fenway Park once again in 2013.  In coordination with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America: New England chapter; the Red Sox make a concerted effort to assist all fans in their efforts to see Boston Red Sox Baseball at Fenway Park. (All game dates fall on a Saturday in favor of fan support from our 2013 Peanut Allergy Initiative Survey)

The Cumberland Farms Deck will be our main seating area for our 2013 Peanut Allergy Friendly games

• Cumberland Farms Deck will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to each game

• Families will receive tickets from ambassadors inside Gate B as soon as they turn in their waiver forms that are sent to them in advance
• Ambassadors will assist directing fans up to Coke Deck starting 2 hours prior to first pitch and up until the start of the 2^nd inning
• Sales of any nut products are prohibited on or near the Right Field Terrace during the game
• There is an extra security, EMS, and Ambassador presence in the Cumberland Farms Deck throughout the game to troubleshoot questions and be of assistance in case an emergency arises
• Will Jones will remain the main contact for these families throughout the course of the day

What we provide:

1. Atmosphere – A safe and friendly environment welcoming our fans to Fenway Park 
2. Tickets – Peanut Families pick up at Gate B for Cumberland Farms Deck anytime from the time gates open through the first inning
3. Waiver Forms – They are sent to the families in advance and must be signed to receive their tickets
4. Goody Bags – Each family will receive a goody bag when entering the ballpark
5. Scoreboard Message – Arranged in advance, there will be a scoreboard message saying: “The Boston Red Sox Welcome Our Peanut-Allergy Families to Fenway Park”
6. Wally the Green Monster visit – Arranged in advance, Wally will visit the or Cumberland Farms deck, for a half inning during the game
7. Customer Service – A combination of Fenway Ambassadors, Ushers, Security and Beth Israel EMS staff providing the best customer service possible

• Tickets are available once per Homestand 
• Price: $55 per ticket and the booth can hold up to 6 people per game
• Each family will be given a goody bag that includes the waivers that each individual must sign upon arriving at 4 Yawkey Way
• It is the assigned ambassador’s duty to ensure Booth F is clean of all nut products before bringing the family to the booth
• The Fan Services calendar will provide contact info of the family attending each specific game as well as a time for the assigned ambassador to meet the family and escort them to Booth F
• Families will meet an ambassador at 4 Yawkey Way at the convenience of the department prior to game time and be taken up the Booth F via the Front Office
• For credentials, which act as their ticket please see Will Jones, Jovan Holland, or Nina Beltre
• The ambassador will be the contact for this family for the duration of the game, please exchange contact numbers and remain accessible.

FAQ’s:

1. Why must we sign waivers?

   Waivers must be signed before attending a peanut allergy friendly game as     

   we cannot fully guarantee a peanut free environment.

2. Why are ticket prices so high for my family and I to attend a game?

The Coca – Cola Deck tickets were the most expensive at $75 per ticket based upon feedback we switched locations and the highest priced ticket is $50 for Cumberland Farm Deck tickets.

3. Are tours available for people with peanut allergies? 

We will offer a peanut allergy friendly tour before every peanut allergy friendly game in 2013. More details will be provide closer to each date.

4. Why did I not receive any emails or updates about the peanut allergy friendly games?

Participants must notify Will Jones of an email or phone number changes for  contact and information purposes. Email at peanutallergy@redsox.com

5. What is the reason for using only the Cumberland Farms Deck for peanut allergy friendly games? The Cumberland Farms Deck was voted on by the majority of participants who took the 2012 Peanut Allergy Friendly survey.

6. What time do gates open?

    Gates open an hour ½ before game time.

7. My kids have a severe airborne peanut allergy how can we attend a game at Fenway    Park? 

For one game during each homestand we offer our fully enclosed Booth F as our peanut allergy friendly booth. Booth F is located on Fenway Park’s 5^th floor media level.

8. How do I know what foods are peanut allergy friendly at Fenway Park?

A list of ingredients for each food served at concessions will be emailed to each participant. There will be a concession stand nearby that will not carry any peanut products or use any peanut oils on the day of each peanut allergy friendly game.

9. Will there be more games this next year?

For the 2013 season we will have 6 peanut allergy friendly games with the addition of the Baseball Beanpot and the Futures @ Fenway game. 

10. Why are there vendors who sell peanut products roaming the peanut allergy friendly area? Vendors will pass by the peanut allergy friendly section to visit fans in other seating locations.

11. Can I swap my tickets grandstand seats for peanut allergy friendly seats?

      Situations such as these will be handled on a case by case Basis.

Peanut Allergy Section Boston Red Sox 2012

This just in from AAFA (NE)!


"We are pleased to again be working with our "home teams" to accommodate families with peanut allergies this season.

The Boston Red Sox has announced that there will be a peanut allergy section at the game onSunday, August 26th versus the Kansas City Royals.  Game time is 1:35pm.
The seats for the game on August 26th will be on the Coca-Cola Deck.  The ticket prices for the Coca-Cola Deck are $75 for seating and $30 for standing room only.

Tickets for other games which will have a peanut allergy section will go on sale as the dates become available. The main peanut allergy section this year will be the Cumberland Farms Deck in right field. Ticket prices for the Cumberland Farms Deck will be $50 for seating and $30 for standing room only.

The Red Sox continue to offer Booth F as a peanut-allergy-friendly section during select games.  Booth F is in an enclosed space on the media level, which can hold up to 6 people per game.  Each space in booth F is priced at $55. Booth F is often preferred by families who have children with more severe peanut allergies.

Peanut Free Lowell Spinners Games 2012

Four peanut free games are scheduled for the Lowell Spinners during the 2012 season. The dates are:

The Spinners have received fantastic feedback from allergy families regarding past peanut free games. Spinners' Jon Boswell explained what the measures Spinners take for the peanut free games: 

"On each night we eliminate the sale of all Peanut products from the ballpark, which includes our peanuts, chicken sandwiches (Chik-fil-a uses Peanut oil), one of our ice cream flavors, ect. In addition to our daily Power Washing, we have our front office staff break off into each individual section to collect any stray peanut shells/skins that weren’t taken care of by the power washers and have our EMTs available on each side of the concourse in event of an emergency."

Tickets go on sale March 20, 2012.

Red Sox to Have 2 Peanut-Friendly Games in 2010

From an email from the Red Sox:

The "April 25th and September 19th games are on-sale now and you can reserve your tickets by emailing Michael Lawlor at mlawlorATredsox.com. Much like last season, these seats will be located in the Coca-Cola Left Field Pavilion section. Seats cost $75 each and we will have an allotment of Standing Room tickets at $25 each as well. The Standing Room area consists of a patio type area with a bar table, picnic tables, and fantastic view of the Boston skyline. All seats will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and inquiries will be processed in the order that they are received."

Lowell Spinners Offer 2 Peanut-Free Baseball Games

Peanut-free seating areas are springing up all over!

Out of Lowell, Massachusetts, comes news of two peanut free night games at the Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Red Sox, during the 2009 season. The Spinner have set Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, August 2 as Peanut Free nights. Jon Boswell, Media Relations Manager for the Spinners, explained "Both games are the first games of homestands, giving us an opportunity to thoroughly power wash our stadium and clean our concession stands. No peanuts or products containing peanuts will be sold that night."

"Individual tickets for our 2009 season go on sale Tuesday, March 17 and group tickets can be booked now through our Spinners Ticket Office at 978-459-1702. Ticket prices range from just $4 for standing room to $8, making Spinners games affordable for the entire family. Additionally, on our second Peanut Free game, as part of our Sunday Kid’s Days, children are welcome to stay after the game to run the bases on the field."

Not bad, eh? 2 peanut-free games, and check out those ticket prices! That's a steal!

More Peanut-Free Seating for Red Sox Games

I am not sure if any tickets remain, but there were 3 more additional Red Sox games with peanut-free seating announced this week. So exciting!

Seats for Peanut Allergic Red Sox Fans

A reader wrote to say that Fenway Park in Boston has peanut free seating. If you are interested in the peanut free seating area, you must contact the Red Sox and request to be put on the waiting list. The reader says that those on the waiting list typically receive a phone call when seats are available in Conigliaro's Corner. In the past, tickets have run about $25 each.
