Peanut Allergy Friendly Baseball Games: Minnesota Twins Peanut-Controlled Games

The Anaphylaxis & Food Allergy Association of Minnesota is coordinating with the Minnesota Twins yet again this year to offer special seating for fans with peanut allergies for an amazing 12 games. Details and prices are available on the ticket order form, courtesy of AFAA Minnesota. To order tickets contact Luis at (612) 659-3575, fax the order form to (612) 659-4030 or email the form to luisbreazeale@twinsbaseball.com. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please note: demand for seats is very high!

Peanut-free Seating Minnesota Twins 2012 Announced!!!

This just came in via an e-blast from the AFAA (Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota):

"Due to popular demand, the Minnesota Twins will offer TEN games this season where peanut-allergic fans can view the games from 2 Target Field balconies located in left field!


Sunday, May 27 - 1:10 (Detroit Tigers)  
Wednesday, May 30 - 12:10 - (Oakland A's)
Monday, June 25 - 7:10 - (Chicago White Sox)

Sunday, July 1 - 1:10 - (Kansas City Royals)
Thursday, July 19 - 12:10 - (Baltimore Orioles)
Monday, July 30 - 7:10 - (Chicago White Sox)
Sunday, August 12 -1:10 -  (Tampa Bay Rays)
Tuesday, August 28 - 7:10 - (Seattle Mariners)
Sunday, Sept 9 - 1:10 -  (Cleveland Indians)
Sunday, Sept 16 - 1:10 (Chicago White Sox)


Tickets $22-$24 depending on game." (see flier)  


"$10 service charge for ordering.  No refunds/exchanges from Twins office but you may sell your unused tickets to AFAA families on waiting list if you cannot use them (contact AFAA for information). 


Only those with a legitimate allergy to peanuts and their immediate family members are eligible for these sections.   Participants will be required to sign a waiver and may be asked to provide documentation from a doctor.  Contact AFAA  for questions about eligibility.


Groups should order tickets at one time to ensure seating in the same balcony.

 Safety features:  
  • Peanut-free baseball fare (i.e. hot dogs, beverages) will be allowed
  • Balconies physically separated from other stadium seating
  • Tables and chairs cleaned prior to games
  • Exclusive access to the balconies for allergic fans
  • AFAA hosts will be available in the balconies 
  • A section of the balcony will be roped off as a designated area for those with multiple food allergies."

Minnesota Twins offer 5 (wow!) Games with Peanut-Free Zones in 2010

"The peanut-free zones will be available on the following dates:
  • Thursday, July 1 v.s. Tampa Bay Rays @ 7:10 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 15 v.s. Chicago White Sox @ 7:10 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 1 v.s. Seattle Mariners @ 1:10 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 19 v.s. Chicago White Sox @ 7:10 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 19 v.s. Oakland Athletics @ 1:10 p.m."
For additional information, click here. I have to note, this may be the first time I have seen this for a peanut-free zone at a ballgame-in order to participate, a doctor's note is required!

Minnesota Twins Peanut-Free Skybox

Minnesota Twins Reserve 4 games for food allergic fans


Take me out to the ballgame - but forget the peanuts! AFAA will again host the peanut-free skybox for 4 Minnesota Twins baseball games this season. No peanuts or peanut ingredients are allowed into the skybox! Snacks sold inside the skybox are reviewed and labeled, and are free from 6 of the 8 major allergens. (Note: food from Metrodome vendors is allowed into the skybox.)

Game dates: June 17, July 3, August 12, September 11.
Tickets are $31.
