Peanut Free Section Seattle Mariners 2012

A big THANK YOU goes to Michael San Soucie for the following information and for his role in making these Seattle Mariners games possible!

"The 2012 game dates are now available for ticket orders at www.mariners.com/nopeanuts.  I also noticed a couple other cool things about the games being offered to our group this year.  Two of the games are also free giveaway days and one is a business man's special during the summer which we have not had previously.  Pretty cool!

So here are some more specifics on the game dates and the special events taking place those nights:

Sunday, April 22nd vs. Chicago White Sox - this is a day game as we have always requested for those with smaller children.  It is also Little League Day!  This means a chance to go on the field prior to the game.  For those wanting to go on the field for the pre-game parade, have your child wear his/her uniform and get their early.  The parade begins at 11:30am and you just need to line up at the Right Field ramp near section 114.  This is basically below our seating section on the lower level.  All kids 14 and under also  receive a drawstring backpack upon entering the stadium.

Friday, May 25th vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - this game is a chance to see Albert Pujols, one of the best players in the game today.  It is also Dustin Ackley Bobblehead night.  The first 20,000 fans get a free bobblehead.  You will need to get there very early to get one of these.  It will be a very popular giveaway.

Thursday, July 26th vs. Kansas City Royals - this night is also the 8th annual Stitch 'n' Pitch night.  Bring your knitting, stitching, quilting, or other fiber arts projects to the game, get help from experts, view the latest samples from area shops, and meet other enthusiasts while enjoying a night at the ballpark.

Wednesday, August 15th vs. Tampa Bay Rays - this game is our very first business man's special; a midweek day game!  Take the day off of work and enjoy a sunny, summer day at the ballpark with your kids.  Also a second opportunity for those with younger children to come to the ballpark and not have the kids out too late."

Peanut Free Lowell Spinners Games 2012

Four peanut free games are scheduled for the Lowell Spinners during the 2012 season. The dates are:

July 1, 2012
July 29, 2012
August 19, 2012
August 26, 2012

The Spinners have received fantastic feedback from allergy families regarding past peanut free games. Spinners' Jon Boswell explained what the measures Spinners take for the peanut free games:

"On each night we eliminate the sale of all Peanut products from the ballpark, which includes our peanuts, chicken sandwiches (Chik-fil-a uses Peanut oil), one of our ice cream flavors, ect. In addition to our daily Power Washing, we have our front office staff break off into each individual section to collect any stray peanut shells/skins that weren’t taken care of by the power washers and have our EMTs available on each side of the concourse in event of an emergency."

Tickets go on sale March 20, 2012.

Thank you to the Lowell Spinners for this information and for providing these 4 fun-filled nights to food allergy families!

Milwaukee Brewers' 2012 Peanut Controlled Area

BREWERS MAKE SCHOOL VISIT TO UNVEIL PEANUT CONTROLLED AREA
MILWAUKEE – Peanuts at ballparks are as much of a tradition as hot dogs, but not for everyone. In fact, for those suffering from peanut allergies, a ballpark experience can be very difficult to navigate.
Earlier this month, Horizon Elementary School 6th Grade student Mathew Trotier wrote a letter to Milwaukee Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger suggesting the creation of an area at Miller Park for children who suffer from peanut allergies. After reviewing logistics, the Brewers today surprised Trotier, who suffers from the allergy, at his school by announcing the creation of a program that will accommodate approximately 100 people in a peanut-controlled area for three Brewers home games in 2012.
“Our goal is to make Miller Park accessible to as many fans as possible, including those with mild peanut allergies,” Schlesinger said.
The three home games are Monday, May 7 against the Reds; Thursday, July 26 against the Nationals; and Friday, September 14 against the Mets.
The peanut controlled area seating will be in Club Outfield sections 306 and 307, and tickets will be $38 each.
Tickets are not yet on sale. Additional information related to the availability of the tickets and logistics related to the area will be announced later in February.
